Annually, on 24 March its World TB Day. The BNZ Foundation participated and commemorated this significant day on 27 March 2018. Tuberculosis developed frequently in patients with poor diabetes control leading to the double burden of the two diseases among themselves. The theme for 2018 being: “Wanted: Leaders for a Free TB – World”.
The day was commemorated through the provision of health screening services and health education on Diabetes and TB. JASCO workforce participated and enjoyed themselves, whilst informed about their blood sugar levels through screening.

To emphasize the message various posters were mounted and the messages promoted were:
- Diabetes Matters; are you at risk of Type 2 Diabetes? A call to act today and change tomorrow;
- Thinks TB with signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis. A call to be diagnosed early to reduce the spread of TB;
- One in nine TB Patients – co-infected with diabetes. There is a connection between TB and diabetes. A call for people to look after themselves by getting screened for diabetes; and
- A poster that promoted 2018 theme: “Wanted: Leaders for a TB free-World”
