Dr Bongi Ngema-Zuma – Founder and Patron of the Bongi Ngema-Zuma (BNZ) Foundation joined millions of South Africans celebrating Mandela Day by spending time with 70 year old music legend, Lionel Peterson.
Lionel is a preacher who has also contributed greatly to the South African arts through his gospel and R&B music. In 2016 he was diagnosed with diabetes.
During her visit with Lionel Peterson, Dr Bongi Ngema-Zuma shared educational information on diabetes and provided food supplies and other essentials. A healthy lifestyle is key in preventing and managing diabetes and its complications.
“Today is a continuation of what we do every day through the Bongi Ngema-Zuma (BNZ) Foundation. Supporting people suffering from diabetes is close to my heart and Mandela Day presents a perfect opportunity to do what Tata Mandela calls to do – changing lives”, said Dr Bongi Ngema-Zuma.
As BNZ Foundation we are inspired by the life of giving that Tata Mandela lived. In this year of his Centenary, our work of educating people about diabetes continues. Through various programmes and meaningful partnership we also support those already affected by diabetes.
